Adakkan
Adakkan lives by a tile factory in Waikkal not far from Colombo in Sri Lanka. Christian in a muslim country, he suffered like many from the 2004 Tsunami. Six hundred dead were found in his neighbourhood among rubble and dolphins washed away by the tide. I met Adakkan by chance the day before leaving Sri Lanka. It was a short and lucky encounter. He was genuine, hearty and lovable. I will never forget him.
